Steps 2 Stardom was established in 1994 and has loved teaching dance to the children of the Macarthur Community.

Sisters Cathryn & Annette Hill (Directors of Steps 2 Stardom), started the studio in Ambarvale and has seen it grow into a greatly successful, trusted, friendly and professional studio.

Steps 2 Stardoms amazing premises at Smeaton Grange include 4 incredible dance studio’s and office which provides uniforms, dance shoes and a canteen for the convenience of all our families.

READY SET DANCE

★ READY SET MOVE is a creative movement and music class for toddlers and their grown up from approx. 18 months to 3years of age. (The child should be fairly confident at walking)

The class consists of 3 sections – ENGAGE, EXPLORE AND EXPRESS. The ENGAGE section is a playful exploration of music, nursery rhymes, lap play and parachute fun. The EXPLORE section is set up as a circuit around the room with stepping stones, tunnels and sensory activities designed to encourage investigation and build coordination skills. The EXPRESS section of the class involves free dance movement which develops creativity with instruments, feathers and bubbles.

★ READY SET DANCE is a one hour combo class of JAZZ, TAP, HIP HOP, SINGING and MUSIC. Designed for both boys and girls from approx 2 – 5yrs old who ready to participate in class without their grown up. The program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of dance while developing confidence, coordination and creativity in a professional and safe environment.

★ READY SET BALLET is 30 minute magical ballet experience for approx 2 – 5yrs old who ready to participate in class without their grown up. This beautiful class is where they learn the fundamentals of classical ballet.

CLASSES

★ Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop & Modern

Classes are super fun and are carefully structured to incorporate both important technique (B.A.L syllabus based work) so all students are taught correctly and safely as well dance routines which are performed at our concerts.

★ AcroDance

A super fun program following the world renowned Acrobatic Arts Syllabus which incorporates gymnastic floorwork and acrobatics and teaches it for skills that can be included in dance.

★ Musical Theatre

Involves vocal training, acting & movement, and all classes learn routines for our concerts.

★ Stretch & Strengthen

Classes are carefully designed for each age group to carefully stretch and strengthen their bodies specifically for dance.

★ Kicks, Turns & Leaps (KTL)

Classes are a 30min class specifically focussing on the skills of dance kicks, turns and leaps. This class takes these skills to a much higher level.

★ Troupe & Solos

Are competition class by invitation only. Students compete in 5 – 7 competitions each year and is an extremely fun, committed and team building extension to the students dance world.

★ DanceStep

Available to all students who are in Gold Level 2 and above. DanceStep is a formalised and progressive Dance Student Teacher Education Program which empowers students to serve as role models, grow as leaders and care for others in their dance studio community. It provides learning opportunities for dance and acro students.

Designed to develop leadership and valuable ‘soft skills’ (also referred to as employability skills) such as communication, team work, problem solving and emotional judgement.
