🎶 What is Capoeira?
Capoeira is a 500-year-old Afro-Brazilian art form created by African slaves in colonial Brazil. It’s the only surviving martial art native to the New World, and it’s unique because it’s not just fighting—it’s a game (“jogo”) played inside a circle called a roda. Two players move with deceptive kicks, sweeps, and acrobatics, while musicians guide the tempo with instruments like the berimbau, atabaque, and pandeiro. Songs and rhythms shape the energy of the game, teaching balance, creativity, and emotional control.
❤️ More Than Martial Arts
On its deepest level, Capoeira is a philosophy of freedom, joy, and wisdom. It challenges the body, mind, and spirit, encouraging resilience, self-expression, and connection with others. For kids, it builds discipline and confidence; for parents, it’s a fun way to stay fit and bond with their children.
In short: Capoeira is a family-friendly art form that combines fitness, culture, and community. It’s a chance for kids and parents to move, play, and grow together—while experiencing the joy of Brazilian beats.
