Show Dance is a vibrant, community-driven dance school located in The Gap, Brisbane, offering classes in jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, contemporary, musical theatre, drama, song & dance, and acro. With programs for dancers from tiny toes to seniors, we’re proud to be a family-focused studio where every individual is encouraged, supported, and celebrated.

Founded in 2013 by Cheyene Smythe, Show Dance was built on a simple but powerful philosophy: to nurture every student’s hopes and dreams, helping them reach their full potential while doing what they love. Here, dance isn’t just movement — it’s expression, joy, and belonging.

We believe that dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another. At Show Dance, students are welcomed as part of our family, forming a tight-knit community that makes our studio truly unique. Our classes focus on creating a fun, uplifting environment where confidence grows, creativity flourishes, and lifelong friendships are made. Dance supports social, physical, and emotional development — and we are honoured to be part of that journey for every child, teen, and adult who joins us.

With such a wide range of styles and levels available, there is truly something for everyone — boys, girls, children, teens, adults, beginners, and experienced dancers. OUR CLASSES

✨ Jazz (Ages: 2 years to adult)

A dynamic and ever-evolving style influenced by today’s pop music and culture. Jazz enhances flexibility, strength, coordination, and performance skills — all while keeping dancers energised and engaged. Expect music from artists such as Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Jessica Mauboy, and more.

✨ Ballet (Ages: 3 years to adult)

The elegant foundation of all dance forms. Ballet develops posture, strength, discipline, and technique through barre work, centre exercises, jumps, turns, and graceful movement. A perfect pathway for students who dream of progressing en pointe.

✨ Tap (Levels: Beginner to advanced)

For dancers who love rhythm, sound, and creativity. Tap combines classic and modern techniques, allowing students not only to dance — but to hear their movement. An expressive, fun, and musical style for all ages.

✨ Hip Hop (Ages: 5 years to adult)

A powerful, expressive street-style dance influenced by modern music and cultural trends. Hip hop is bold, energetic, and ever-changing, with inspiration from artists like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Iggy Azalea, Michael Jackson, and more.

✨ Contemporary (Ages: 10 years to adult)

A fluid blend of ballet and modern dance. Contemporary encourages creativity, emotional expression, and personal interpretation. Dancers learn to move with strength, flow, and artistry through grounded, technical, and expressive choreography.

✨ Musical Theatre (Ages: 8 years to adult)

Where singing, dancing, and acting come together! Students learn vocal technique, performance skills, and stage presence through songs and scenes from shows such as Wicked, Grease, Hairspray, and The Lion King.

✨ Acro (Levels: Beginner to advanced)

Acrobatics for dancers — focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, and control. Unlike gymnastics, acro emphasises dance integration and floor-based tricks. Students progress through foundational skills to advanced acrobatic techniques.
