    Join us for hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts and maths - ACTION, at it's best!

    This April 2023 we're offering a series of fabulous hands-on create and make experiences that involve problem-solving, use of hand-tools, designing, making and having a lot of fun!

    Day 1 Monday 17 April: Cosmic Coding
    We’ve some exciting new coding kit to play with, alongside favourites – so come and unleash your coding creARTivity as we attempt to apply real-life solutions to everyday concerns. We have Rasperry Pi, Maker Maker and number of Bots and crazy coding contraptions to create.

    Day 2 Tuesday 18 April: Light Sabre
    All Wired Up meets MadLab; explore what we think we know about circuits and electricity. Learn safe use of a soldering iron to electronically ‘glue’ electrical components together. Learn safe use of other hand tools to help with construction of your ‘light-sabre’!

    Day 3 Wednesday 19 April Lighter-than-air: Hovercraft
    Electrical engineering meets cardboard constructions as we design and construct a working model hovercraft – aka air-cushioned vehicle (ACV), a craft capable of travelling over land, water, mud, ice and other surfaces.

    Day 4 Thursday 20 April Holey-Moley
    Design and develop your own Holey-Moley game of skill - it’s mini-mini-golf! Learn safe use of hand tools and materials to create your version of this popular game.


    Come for a day, or all four-days - there's plenty of variety and our signature child-centred approach to learning and discovery.

    We continue to remain a COVID-19 safe venue and will be following all NSW Health Guidelines.

We’re all about child-led discovery that supports children's natural curiosity, building their creativity and confidence to work things out for themselves. Each day offers a different experience which is adapted to the interests of the children.


We have amazing fun with science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) - we explore, investigate, test & fail and share the joy of discovery. We are a COVID-safe venue providing an essential service for holiday care.


With no prescribed outcomes, our discovery science workshops are designed for children (accompanying adults always welcome) to build their confidence, communication, collaboration and creativity and develop their investigative powers to explore their world.


We also create discovery spaces hosting powerful playful learning experiences; from simulated archaeological excavations and house construction experiences, to "tours" through giant body parts. Discovery spaces are designed for children and their adults to co-create, co-discover, and experience the joy of sharing a playful adventure. Our national library STEM initiative sees libraries and community venues throughout Australia being trained, equipped and supported to run science and discovery clubs. These include the Little Bang Discovery Club, Big Bang Science Workshops and collection of loanable STEM-themed Spark discovery boxes. Please get in touch if you’d like to know more.
